Adult Electives:
Introductory Level: An Introduction to and Overview of Hosea – the Prophet of God's Love Betrayed and Restored
By observing the recurring patterns in Hosea's prophecy, we learn both the nature and depth of our sin AND the tremendous, extraordinary grace of God. Teachers: Mary Marg Marquis & Dr. David Wallover
Intermediate Level: Survey of the Minor Prophets – Part I
By first providing background as to where they fit into Israel's history, we will then be able to understand the issues God was addressing and how they still exist in each of us. We will also consider God's transcendence yet immanence in the affairs of His people. His abhorrence of sin and call for righteousness, yet grace to those who trust in Him. No matter how dark the situation, there is a remedy and there is hope. God has a plan and the outcome is certain though it may not appear that way to those whom He has called to be His people. (Part II of this class will be offered in the Spring Quarter.) Teacher: RE Bill Magargee
Advanced Level:
An in-depth look at the book of Hebrews
Imagine you're in a library. You take down a book from the shelf and on opening it, you find an old document. You read it and learn that someone was writing to a group of people whom he knew well, but he doesn't
identify himself or those to whom he writing.
You would really like to know these things, but then you realize that you have all what the writer wanted you, the reader, to know, which is really what's important.
That's how the Epistle to the Hebrews should be regarded. Teacher: RE Dave Beard
