What is MOPS?

MOPS is about...Celebrating motherhood. Meeting needs. Making connections.

Experiencing God's love...through relationships and resources.

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS exists to meet the needs of every mom -urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single, and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy to kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.

MOPS helps moms through relationships established in the context of local groups like ours that provide a caring atmosphere for today's mother of young children. MOPS also encourages and supports moms through resources such as books, the MOPS international web site (mops.org), and the daily MOMSense Radio program.

"What MOPS has provided for me...is a welcome break; a chance to make new friends; the opportunity to know I'm not the only mom who goes through the struggles and joys of raising young children..."

Refreshment Table What do we do at MOPS?

Our MOPS group meets the first Thursday of the month from 9:00-11:30 AM and the third Monday of the month from 7:00-9:30 PM during the months of September through April. At each of our meetings we feature a speaker discussing a topic a mother like you would be interested in, challenged and encouraged by. Moms enjoy a chance to socialize with other moms, enjoy refreshments, and participate in a creative activity. Moms also participate in small group discussions that allow them to get to know other moms more intimately.

How much does it cost?

Our fee for 2008-2009 is $4.00 per meeting. This covers the cost of craft materials and speaker fees. There is also a yearly MOPS international fee of $20. These fees contribute to your MOPS international membership which includes 6 issues of MOMSense magazine, weekly MOM-E-mails, and several nice gifts. We would never turn away a mother because of financial constraints; scholarships are available and strictly confidential.

During our morning meetings children participate in our MOPPETS program. Quality childcare is provided for children infant - 2 years of age. Children 2 1/2 - Kindergarten (5 or 6) enjoy a bible lesson, craft, snack, songs, and playtime. Our evening meetings are intended to give mothers a well-deserved break and to provide a time for mothers to fellowship, learn, and enjoy themselves without the added worry of caring for a child. However, nursing moms and their babies are welcome!
