Remember the hymn?

Bringing in the sheaves,
Bringing in the sheaves,
We will go rejoicing,

Bringing in the sheaves

Take a look at our logo. The wheat on the left represents "the sheaves", the people that God is saving. This image has been used at Harvest since the moment she was planted, 20 years ago.

Even the name "Harvest" points to the fact that this congregation, from her earliest days, has understood this essential truth: We do not exist for ourselves.

When Jesus says, "Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field," (Matthew 9:38) the response of this body is, "Lord, send us."

Into Communion with Christ

The right side of our logo is the communion cup, representing the truth that we are not just saved from something, but to something ... a life-changing relationship with Christ, and with His people. At Harvest, we celebrate that our chief end is "to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." The Lord says it is His glory to seek and save the lost. It pleases Him to include us in this remarkable plan. Lord, send us!

In 1987, Harvest began as a handful of neighbors whose deepest desire was to reach folks with the good news that had changed their lives: Jesus saves sinners, just like us. Under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Michael Van Arsdale, the congregation grew to the point that we could, in 1999, build our current facility.

David B. Wallover was installed as Harvest's second pastor in November, 2000. He had previously served churches in Pennsylvania, including a church plant (new church) in Moosic, PA. David graduated from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, MA. He earned his Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1999.

Dr. Wallover and his wife, Lisa, live in Medina with their three children.

Arthur G. Ames was installed as Harvest's associate pastor in May, 2003. He first served churches on the West Coast in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church before coming into this denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America. Since joining the PCA, he has ministered in Iowa, Colorado, Maryland and Ohio. He comes most recently from Grace PC in Hudson, OH. Art graduated from Houghton College in Houghton, NY, and Westminster Theological Seminary, in Philadelphia, PA. He earned his Doctor of Ministry from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1993.

Dr. Ames and his wife, Penny, live in Medina and have three grown children living in St. Louis and Grand Rapids, MI.

The deep desire of the church, her pastors and staff remains the same today as in the past . . . to see lives changed by the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
